Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a condition characterized by an individual's inability to regulate behavior due to challenges in processing neural stimuli, often paired with high levels of physical activity. This disorder, which can be detected in both children and adults, is most noticeable during school years. Children with ADHD may find it difficult to focus, sit still, and may talk excessively. Diagnosis involves a mix of interviews with parents and/or the individual, patient observation, and sometimes standardized screening tools. Treatment strategies include adapting the environment to better suit the individual's needs, implementing behavior modification techniques, and administering medication. Stimulants are the most frequently prescribed drugs, although other medications may also be beneficial.
