Trauma refers to serious physical injury caused by an external force, such as a fall, motor vehicle collision, or violence. Major trauma can damage multiple body systems at once and lead to life-threatening problems including airway compromise, breathing failure, massive bleeding, and shock.
Initial trauma care follows a systematic primary survey (the ABCDE approach) to find and treat immediate threats to life, and may require Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support interventions if the patient deteriorates into cardiac arrest. Rapid assessment, bleeding control, airway management, and prompt transport to definitive care are central to improving outcomes.
CPR Certification Labs provides hands-on, American Heart Association–aligned CPR, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification training to help providers master these life-saving skills.
