Definition of Randomized controlled trial

Randomized controlled trial:This is a type of study where individuals are randomly assigned to one of several clinical treatments purely by chance. Among these treatments is a standard for comparison known as the control, which could be a conventional practice, a placebo (such as a "sugar pill"), or no treatment at all. Individuals who participate in an RCT are referred to as participants or subjects. The aim of RCTs is to assess and compare the results following the administration of these treatments to participants. Since the outcomes are quantitatively measured, RCTs are categorized as quantitative studies. In essence, RCTs are structured, comparative, and controlled experiments that involve studying two or more treatments across a group of individuals who receive them in a random sequence. The RCT is one of the most straightforward and effective methods in clinical research.
