It is categorized using the following scale:- High altitude: 8,000 to 12,000 feet (2,438 to 3,658 meters)- Very high altitude: 12,000 to 18,000 feet (3,658 to 5,487 meters)- Extremely high altitude: Above 18,000 feet (5,500 meters and up)Most individuals can ascend to 8,000 feet (2,438 meters) without experiencing significant effects. If you have previously reached this elevation without issues and are properly acclimatized, you can likely do so again without any problems. However, if you are new to high altitudes, it's important to exercise caution. There are no definitive factors like age, gender, or physical fitness that predict who will experience altitude sickness. Nevertheless, people aged 50 to 60 or older tend to have a reduced incidence, while women may face a slightly higher risk than men. Some individuals are simply more prone to altitude sickness than others. Since it is unpredictable, exercising caution is wise.
